Backstage of the BID21ARTALENT program, the project designed specifically for the secondary schools of Trieste to bring children closer to contemporary art. There are 20 young people who will compete in the creation of a promotional video for BID21ART. The winners will be included in the 2021 exhibition alongside the works on display. May the best win!
ART AND YOUNG TALENTS
It is a fact that high school curricula do not allow you to effectively deepen contemporary art and the knowledge of the most famous and prominent artists who represent current excellence; moreover, there is often superficial mention of the different artistic currents over the centuries, whose analysis would allow us to better understand the artistic evolution in the various expressive fields. Starting from these assumptions, the BID21 has the ambition to propose an interesting and sustainable educational path, to fill some knowledge gaps through a very interactive approach that can stimulate the curiosity of the learners in exploring the different styles and currents that characterize contemporary art and, hopefully, to bring out personal talents and attitudes to draw inspiration such as to motivate the undertaking of future paths in the world of art or, at least, allow oneself to be contaminated by the beauty of artistic works, an experience that still reserves an incomparable occasion of happiness. An opportunity that is an exchange between the BID and the younger generations, in order to proceed in a structured way in the project growth, expand visibility and intensify collaborations also to allow the works of many talented women to leave a creative imprint in the world . By now, communication has almost entirely digitized and the lion’s share is made by social media, where the younger generations have developed familiarity in the use of technologies to the point of generating new and multiple forms of expression, which blend well with the aims desired by BID . The meeting of digital and BID young people, therefore, can constitute a fertile common context for discovering new talents, experimenting with individual skills, finding new ways to express artistic creativity.
THE PROJECT #BID21 ARTALENT FOR SCHOOLS
BID invites Secondary Schools to participate in the # BID21 ARTALENT project by sending an email of registration by May 7, 2021 with the list of names of the participants. The project can also be framed as a PCTO stage. On May 14, the official pre-opening date of BID21ART to the public, teams of 8 young people will be formed. Each team will choose its own “battle name”, referring to a great woman who has distinguished herself in the world for her commitment to culture and art.
Phase 1. VISIT BID
On 14/05 the groups will visit the exhibition with a BID expert guide who will provide them with explanations about the works and artists: each group will be assigned specific sections of the exhibition area.
Phase 2. VIDEO SHOOTING
Each Team will be assigned the task of creating a BID promotional video of 1’30 ” minutes in total with the devices available to them (smartphones, tablets, etc.). The video must be divided into four sections: 1. -an overview of the exhibition 2.-detail of a work 3. -a mini interview with the artist of the assigned work (if present) 4. -a shot of the Warehouse 26
Phase 3. LABORATORY
The video will have to be ‘edited’ by the Team, who will have to choose and compose the final video starting from the different pieces shot by each member, in the sequence most suited to the Team. It is not mandatory to follow the indicated sequence but the 4 sections must be included, even if intersected: eg. during the interview with the artist, you can also show images of the work, or of Warehouse 26; or during the overview you can hear the voice of the background artist, or see the writings of what he says …) To stimulate creativity, the video can be enriched with the introduction of soundtracks, colored texts and writings, emoticons, effects graphics and voice overs, in full freedom of expression.
Videos containing inappropriate gestures, vulgar writings or images and / or that damage the image of the BID or the artists represented will not be admitted in any way, under penalty of disqualification of the group from the project.
The teams will only have one week to work on editing the video. Once this phase has been completed, the Institute representative will be able to send the video files produced by 23/05 to a Dropbox mailbox prepared by BID, where the BID curator and the international scientific committee will evaluate the best videos.
Phase 4. AWARDS
By mid-June, the groups participating in the project will be invited to the election day of the winners of # BID21 ARTALENT edition in the presence of the authorities, the BID21 board and a specially composed jury.
In order to guarantee visibility to the best productions:
The videos of the first 3 winners will be screened throughout the duration of BID 2021 in rotation in a section of the exhibition alongside the works of the artists!
There will be an exclusive interview with the winning team which will be disseminated to the local media of Trieste and will be granted free entry to the BID for the duration of the exhibition.
BID is committed to disseminating the best video productions produced on its social media and on the institutional website.
Note: To ensure that the videos can be viewed publicly, we need a disclaimer (signed by the parents for minors) for the use of the materials provided to us.
